About the Bazaar

What is the Bella Befana Bazaar?

The Bella Befana Bazaar is a diverse shopping experience that takes place on Aviano Air Base every year in the fall. It has been running for over 45 years and has grown into one of the base’s most anticipated events. Encompassing an entire airplane hanger with an average of 85 vendors selling everything from furniture and rugs to small gifts and handmade items, the Bella Befana Bazaar is not to be missed!

The Bazaar also features a number of private organizations from around the base that sell food and drinks in tents outside the main bazaar hangar. We also provide childcare for the event as well.

This fall, don’t miss your chance to shop, eat, and support your Aviano Air Base family!

Pets

While we love our furry, four-legged friends, we ask that you please keep them at home when attending the bazaar.

Payment/Currency

We will only be accepting US dollars at the bazaar, but we will accept either cash or card!

When you purchase something at the bazaar with card, instead of paying the vendor directly, you will receive a paper voucher from them detailing the price of the item you intend to purchase. You then take this sheet of paper to the back of the hangar to our payment line, where a cashier will swipe your card and mark your voucher as paid. You may then return to the vendor with the paid voucher and pick up your item. If you want to save time, collect all your vouchers ahead of time and go through the payment line once!

Community Support

Shopping at the Bella Befana Bazaar supports the Aviano Air Base community. When you purchase that fabulous persian rug for your living room, you will also be supporting clubs, quality of life programs, and events at Aviano Air Base. On average, the Bella Befana Bazaar brings just under $500,000 over the course of the weekend. Last year, over $97,000 of that went back into Aviano Air Base. The high school club that your child is involved in, the Operation Yellow Ribbon team that greeted your husband when he came home, and the Airmen and Family Readiness Center that helped you get started here at Aviano are just a few of the groups that your purchases will be aiding. The Spouses of Aviano (our newly combined Enlisted and Officer Spouses Club) hosts the annual event and uses the proceeds to aid these groups throughout the following calendar year.
